In January our co-edited Special Issue “Confronting Muted Memories: Reading Silences, Entangling Histories” with Ieva Astahovska was published in Baltic Worlds journal. It grew out of Prisms of Silence symposium earlier that year and comprises of 10 essays by artists, researchers and curators. Dealing with the traumatic memories of the 20th century in the broader Baltic memory region, it focused on the 3rd generations’ experience. Contributions by: Zuzanna Hertzberg, Lia Dostlieva & Andrii Dostliev, Giedrė Jankevičiūtė, Kati Roover, Elisabeth Kovtiak, Paulina Pukyte, Rasa Goštautaitė, Annika Toots, Jan Miklas-Frankowski. The issue also includes my interview with Vilma and Jūrate Samulionytė about their film “Liebe Oma, Guten Tag! About what we leave behind”.
